From: "B Monard" <BMonard@mweb.co.za> Subject: GRB 021004 Date: Sat, 5 Oct 2002 12:46:23 +0200 Hi, last night the centre part of the indicated GRB021004 region / Trigger no 2380, Seq No 5 (20 arcmin diameter field) was imaged at the Bronberg Observatory using a 32 cm SCT combined with a CCD camera SBIG/ST7-E in unfiltered mode. An image was composed by stacking 9 individual images, taken around the time 20021004.809 UT. The size of the image is slightly larger than 17 arcmin in RA and 12 arcmin in DE. The limiting magnitude of this image was around 19.5 CR, based on the USNO-A2.0 R magnitudes. It was visually inspected. By comparison to the DSS images of generation 1 and generation 2/blue, one new object brighter than magnitude 19CR was detected at position (2000) 00 26 54.73 +18 55 43.7 Three other possibly new objects were detected near the image limit. Probably they are image defects. The indicated new object might possibly be an image defect too. The following are details of the observation at the Bronberg observatory Bronberg observatory / CBA Pretoria observer: Berto Monard MLF, Pretoria, South Africa location: -25 º 54' 48", 28º 26' 44"E, altitude 1590m instrumentation: LX200 12" f/4.2 with ST-7E, unfiltered conditions: strong wind The reported CR magnitude results from differential photometry to non-red comparison stars with R magnitudes from USNO-A2.0.
