(copy of the message sent to Downes, forwarded from a copy to vsnet-adm) Date: Fri, 19 Sep 2003 21:30:48 +0900 (JST) From: Hitoshi YAMAOKA <yamaoka@rc.kyushu-u.ac.jp> Subject: V2295 Oph Dear Prof. Downes, On examining about Nova Oph 1993 = V2295 Oph, I noticed that your "living" catalog has mistaken about this object. The X-ray Nova Oph 1993 (Della Valle et al. 1994) is not V2295 Oph, but V2293 Oph. The position of V2293 Oph in your catalog is almost correct, but it should be reffered from Argyle et al., IAUC 5831. In addition, the position of V2295 Oph is 17:19:36.93, -25:01:03.5 (J2000.0), processed from the B1950 radio position referred in Della Valle et al. 1994. Sincerely Yours, Hitoshi Yamaoka, Kyushu Univ., Japan yamaoka@rc.kyushu-u.ac.jp
