ASAS-3 170634-5742.9 = NSV 8172 = CPD-57 8290 = GSC 08734-02066 The star is classified as a CEP: in the NSV catalogue with a G5 spectrum. SIMBAD gives G5Iab: as the luminosity class. This is similar to AI CMi and the lightcurve is AI CMi-like! ASAS-3 data show it is not a cepheid. At first instance I thought of an RCB type but it looks more like a semiregular. Maybe another protoplanetary object? If so, this behaviour might be typical for this kind of stars. Type= L: V= 9.74 - 11.52 Regards, Sebastian.
