[vsnet-gcvs 274] V410 Cas position
Dear all,
I happened to identify V410 Cas on the DSS images. It was dim on
1954 images, but continuously bright during 1989-1995. Combined with
the information in IBVS 3732 and VSNET observations, it has been in
the bright phase since 1978 up to now (almost quarter of a century).
The J2000.0 position of this object has been reported as below:
GCVS printed version 00:23:24.6 +61:45:37 (processed)
Henden & Honeycutt (1995) 00:23:27.75 +61:46:27.7
(VizieR extraction; 00:23:27.83 +61:46:27.4. I don't know why differs.)
Kato (1999) = USNO-A1.0 00:23:27.637 +61:46:28.84
GCVS online 00:23:27.7 +61:46:29
Downes online catalog 00:23:27.65 +61:46:28.8
Consulting the modern catalogs:
USNO-A2.0 00:23:27.655 +61:46:29.10 r=18.2 b=18.4 1954.747
GSC-2.2.1 00:23:27.638 +61:46:29.13 r=14.65 b=15.55 1991.683
Then, at least for this object. the online GCVS and Downes' catalog
give an enouth accurate position, while other old ones are not. This
object seems to have a small proper motion, so likely it is a distant
(>1kpc) object.
Sincerely Yours,
