chi Cyg bright historical maximum

Dear Colleagues,

   Does anyone know when the 3.3-mag maximum (current GCVS value) of
chi Cyg was recorded?  And does anyone know the source of the 2.3-mag
magnitude given in the first edition of the GCVS?
