[vsnet-flare 32] AA Cnc

AA Cnc

I have noticed that several people started monitoring AA Cnc. Has there
been an initiative for some kind of campaign?

The star is a UV Cet star (flare star), which had been classified
as a possible dwarf nova in the past. With the current monitoring, the
star may become the "best monitored" flare star by visual observations,
although the implication of nightly single observations is still uncertain.
[This star was also monitored by the VSOLJ members around the 1980's.]

   Identifications:

The object is also a high proper motion star. Be careful when comparing
with DSS or POSS, or derive upper limits based on the object's coordinates.

Taichi Kato
