Back in the days (nights) when I actually LOOKED thru
telescopes, I sat the telescope on V371 Ori and checked it
every few minutes. I caught a really pretty flare and was
impressed. Once I noticed it was brightening I increased
the frequency of the observations.
Some nights, no flare, but once I got a really nice one.
Certainly round - the - clock coverage will tell a lot more
about the star. If the goal is to determine the frequency
of flares, certainly a CCD campaign would be the best
method for monitoring these stars.
