Subject: Peculiar Variable in Crux = Possible Nova in Crux IAUC 8185 informed two spectroscopy of "possible nova in crux" (IAUC 8184, vsnet-alert 7827). The Cerro Tololo spectrum shows weak H_beta emission with P-Cyg profile, from which the reporter H. E. Bond suggest that it would be a classical nova before the maximum. The other reporter M. Della Valle et al., however, commented a lack of the typical signatures of classical novae. They suggest that it would be a flare up of post-AGB star, like V4332 Sgr, or V838 Mon. Further photometries, spectroscopies are defenitely urged. Sincerely Yours, Hitoshi Yamaoka, Kyushu Univ., Japan yamaoka@rc.kyushu-u.ac.jp
