[vsnet-const 3] V449 Sco
This new list gives me the chance of sharing comments about some strange
cases.
V449 Sco is one of them.
The star is classified as CST in the latest GCVS witha 7.1 photographic
magnitude. Given its color index it should be 7.0V as it is indeed.
But in previous GCVS editions (1969-70) the star was presented as an
uncertain type and with the range 7.0 - 7.6 p.
Visual observations were carried on by observers in the Subcomisi de
Estrellas Variables of the AAAA (Asociaci Argentina Amigos de la Astronom$ByB(B)
during 1971 and 1972. They found the star to be probably of the EB type with an
amplitude of 0.7 v mag. in primary minimum and 0.4 in the secondary
one. The following elements were deduced:
Epoch: 2441503.85 - Period: 13.7 days.
- Range: 6.6 - 7.3 v
This was an interesting and rather overlooked variable so I included it in
my observing program in 1998.
But the only thing I could do was to make a confirmation of its
non-variability:

Furthermore the Tycho Catalogue gives a 7.03V value tht agrees perfectly
with observation and with the 7.0 also derived from the GCVS photographic
magnitude.
Could this previous-decades variability have stopped or should it be
considerd just observational scatter?
Which is the source of that 7.6 p magnitude?
