SCIENTIFIC GOALS

The workshop will be dedicated to the structure of the
magnetic interstellar medium and related physical processes on
astrophysical scales ranging from molecular clouds and
proto-stellar embryons to galactic gaseous halos
structured by star formation activity. The primary purpose of
the workshop is to focus on the increasing interest in
understanding the active role which magnetic fields play in
interstellar gas dynamics: the magnetic field may promote
molecular cloud fragmentation, magnetic buoyancy and
magnetic reconnection may determine observational properties
of circumstellar disks on small scales and the galactic
disk-halo interface on larger scales, and magnetic fields
are the clue to observational properties of radiocontinuum
emission in many astrophysical sources. These aspects will be
discussed at the workshop. However, presentations will not be
limited only to the main topics -- many new
interesting results related to magnetic activity in ISM,
stellar objects, nuclear regions of galaxies are expected to
be presented at the workshop.

SCIENTIFIC CONTRIBUTIONS
If you intend to make a scientific contribution, whether oral
or poster, please send an 1/2 page abstract using the on-line
"Registration Form" (see the web site) or e-mail it to
yus@phys.rsu.ru before March 5, 2003. Please find below the
Registration & Abstract Submission Forms.

WORKSHOP PROCEEDINGS
The proceedings will be published in the journal
"Astronomical and Astrophysical Transactions".
More details will be available in the final announcement.

VISAS
According to new regulations law we can send you invitation
letter only if we have a copy your national passport (with
the number, series and date of issue), and some additional
personal data (date of birth, home address, institution address).

Personal information and scanned passport copy (in any graphical
format) should be sent to yus@phys.rsu.ru.

Preparation of the invitation letter in turn takes 35 days, and
in addition one-two weeks can take the letter for reach you (fax
pages are not admitted in Russian Consulates). This means that
in order to get visa in time you have to send me your data and
a copy of the scanned 1st page of your national passport (any
formats are admitted) as soon as possible. The corresponding tax
(10 USD) may be paid with the registration fee.

TRAVEL TO AZOV

All participants will be transported from the airport and main
train station of Rostov on Don to Azov. Participants from
abroad are recommended to flight to Moscow international
airport Sheremetyevo-2 and book the connection to
Rostov on Don by Aeroflot flight company from the airport
Sheremetyevo-1 (which is 15 minuts drive from Sheremetyevo-2).
The most convenient connection flight from Sheremetyevo-1 is at
23:20 (the time is subject to change). In order to better reach
Sheremetyevo-1 from Sheremetyevo-2 one has to come after passing
the custom-house to the Taxi Office in the arrival area and order
a taxy (around 20 USD, the exchange rate is approximately
1 USD per 31 russian roubles), or to contact an Aeroflot
representative just after passing the passport control.

ACCOMMODATIONS

The following rooms are available:

1 very comfortable room of 65 USD/day
7 comfortable rooms each of 45 USD/day
18 fairly comfortable rooms each of 35/day
23 modest rooms each of 15 to 25 USD/day

the prices include a full-board accomodation.

Reservations

Participants should take care of their HOTEL RESERVATIONS.
Please send us your preferred room reservation as soon as
possible. The reservations can be canceled up to May 5
without charges.

REGISTRATION FEES

A reduced rate applies to early registrations, no later than
March 15, 2003. In this case the fee is 150 USD. After this
deadline the fee is 200 USD. The fee includes your registration
package, a copy of the Conference abstracts, drinks and snacks
at the reception on Monday 26 evening, coffee breaks on Monday
to Friday, transportation, as well as some excursions and
social events. Late registration can be also done on the
afternoon of Monday 26 May, at the registration desk of the
hotel, when the secretary will start distributing the
conference package.
