> > Don't forward John Greaves' unsubscription messages to this list. > He has been given his way to post to VSNET, and he just pretends as if > he were totally rejected. > The problem here is that John DOESN'T want to post to VSNET. Neither does he want to receive ANY posts from VSNET. He has unsubscribed to ALL lists, yet he still receives dozens of messages every day. I have even tried to unsubscribe him from one of my mail accounts (with his address of course), with no success. He naturally assumes that if he's still receiving mail from VSNET, he must still be subscribed. Therefore when his messages to VSNET bounce, telling him he's not subscribed he goes barmy (naturally), and asks his mates to send messages on his behalf to VSNET - which is what we do - in the hope that someone will realise what is happening. To end all this, all that needs to be done is for VSNET to forget that John Greaves exists, remove his name from every computer in Kyoto, and get on with the business of the day - please! John has made many a valuable contribution to VSNET & variable star astronomy over the past few years. Now all he wants is a quiet, VSNET free life. He doesn't deserve to be treated this way.
