Compare my CCD based light curve for R Cen here

to the AAVSO version via their Light Curve generator here:
    http://vsnet.aavso.org/adata/curvegenerator.shtml
Be sure to specify a start JD of 2452000 and click Discrepant Data!

Note the "discrepant data" about half a mag above the curve on JD 2452332. It
appears on my CCD data as well! A coincidence?
This is strong evidence that the star was doing something weird...
