I think most statistical types would agree that correlation coefficients
circa 0.6 are not especially compelling, and that 0.95-plus is much more
comforting (even 0.95 to 0.99 makes a big difference). The low values John G
got seem to come largely from the very soft photometry in B1.0. The
correction is enough to separate very blue, intermediate-color, and quite red
stars, but that's about it.
