I downloaded the last 37 years (1966-2003) worth of VSNET observations of Eta Gem and searched for long term periodicity within the observations. I averaged the observations by year and then used the computer program AVE to check for periodicity. The period search was limited to periods between 2 and 22 years. The following are my results:
4.17 +/- 0.11 year
7.31 +/- 0.08 year
12.45 +/- 0.04 year
The calculated periods may represent very low frequency pulsations of the star or rotational effects?? For the sake of comparison, the orbital period of the visual binary system is 473.7 years and 8.17 years for the orbit of the spectroscopic binary system.

Doug West
