[vsnet-chat 5656] Re: R: variable star

Thanks to Roberto for the rough coordinates for the stars. The pair
are ADS 3864, and involve HD 33564, a mag. 5 F-type star with large
proper motion that evidently belongs to the Ursa Major moving group.
The fainter companion is BD+79 168, which also has large motion, but
in directly opposite motion to the brighter star. The Tycho-2 photometry
suggest this, too, must be an F-type star. The uncertainties shown for
the Tycho-2 photometry indicate no strong variability (less than 0.1 mag.).
The radial velocity for this star is also very different than for the bright
one, so the two stars are not related. The faint star is obviously not
known to be variable.
