Dear Dr. Brian Skiff,
Thank you for your comment.

Here are the data of these two variables.
UZ And 01h16m11s.16 +41o44'58".3 Mag(max):9.1 Mag(min):15.6 MagSystem:V Type:M Spectrum:M7e-M9e Epoch:42663 Period:314.30
EK And 01h16m13s.50 +41o44'22".5 Mag(max):10.3 Mag(min):11.4 MagSystem:V Type:SRA Spectrum:M2 Epoch:19818 Period:185
MISAO's unfiltered CCD (KAF) observations are between 10.47 and 10.64
mag. It is only 0.8 mag brighter than visual observations, which also
supports that EK And is not a red variable.
So maybe the discoverer of EK And misidentified the star with UZ And
in some cases, and EK And is constant in fact.
But I do not know how the spectrum, epoch and period of EK And was
determined...
Best regards,
