Dear all,
I Have received just today the diskettes with the GCSV and NSV catalog from
the President of AFOEVB Association.
I am verifying some observations and I found the first surprise.
The position of the variable star HYAFH=GSC 4900:329 (12.2/0.4)
reported in GCSV in Megastar program
is 09 34 0.9 -06 59 04 (LB Type) 10.0-10.5 p
Instead, the position in catalog received is
420172 |FH Hya |093132. -064542:| |LB | 10.0 |
10.5 |P | | | | |K-M
|00351 08953|
I Have verified that the correct position seem to be the first. On my images
at second position seem visible a faint star with a magnitude fainter then
12.5.
Moreover, the measure of p magnitude of the star at first position give the
following results
HYAFH 20020211.908 11.187 p TSc (+/-0.45)
HYAFH 20020211.911 11.054 p TSc (+/-0.23)
fainter then magMin 10.5 p of HYAFH and brigther then 12.2 of GSC4900:329.
If need I will send the images.
On the other hand, on images, the star appear of orange coulor and
comparison with the near star
GSC 4900:477 9.8/0.4 and GSC 4900:491 10.3/0.4, the different magnitude is
well visible.
What is the truth?
Best regards,
Toni Scarmato
