I have retrieved a published V sequence (field 995 of L.O.Loden
1979), which may be helpful in calibrating UCAC1 mags etc for the new nova
in Centaurus. The sequence lies about 40 arcminutes south-preceding the
nova. There are no stars of strong colour in this sequence, but may be
awkward to use for direct visual comparison, being rather distant. For
direct visual comparison I suggest observers use the following stars, with
Tycho2 data:
