Dear colleagues,
During the CV surveys in the MISAO Project, I found some possible
variable stars. There are several DSS2 I-band plates in different
years and the star images on them look evidently variable. But there
are only one night MISAO images. So I cannot confirm the variability
on the MISAO images.
Here is one example.
MPRE 2001-0187
R.A. 05h13m59s.63
Decl. +30o06'57".4 (2000.0)
http://vsnet.aerith.net/tmp/MPRE2001-0187.gif
I can measure the magnitude range of the star on the two DSS2 I-band
plates using the PIXY System 2. But I cannot measure the magnitude
because I have no reference catalog for I-band photometry.
I think there are many people who have discovered those possible
variable stars. And I think there is no rule to register them as
variable stars, is that right?
I have been ignoring those possible variable stars on DSS2 plates. But
now I think I had better report them as new variable stars. So I will
assign MisV numbers for them and report to vsnet-newvar.
How do you think of it? There may be other better ways for them...
Best regards,
