Brian gave some good advice as to finding comparison stars
for fields.
Regarding my availability to do BV (or UBVRI) sequences for arbitrary
variable stars: my time keeps getting to be more and more
precious. I am happy to do field photometry for unusual objects,
or for objects of types that I like to study (CVs, cepheids,
RR Lyrs, etc.), but for other fields you have to convince me.
On the other hand, the TASS camera here at NOFS is operational,
and I will start producing a V&I catalog of the northern sky
down to 16th magnitude within the next month. This catalog will
be in zonal format and will be available at
http://ftp.nofs.navy.mil/pub/outgoing/aah/tasscat
(please read the README file for latest updates). This directory
will be updated on a weekly basis starting about Sept 1. The interim
versions will *not* be complete, but you should check on a regular
basis to see if an appropriate part of the sky covering some
interesting variable is included.
