[vsnet-chat 4673] Charts of WZ Sge

For visual observers we have placed 2 new charts of WZ Sge at our
homepage.
A 2.5x3.0 degree finder chart is available at the following URL:
http://vsnet.shopplaza.nl/astro/vs-charts/WZSGE.htm
Comparison stars down to magnitude 10.8 with B-V<1.0 were selected from
Hipparcos and Tycho-1.

A 20 x 20' chart is available at the following URL:
http://vsnet.shopplaza.nl/astro/vs-charts/WZSGE1.htm

Comparison stars with B-V<1.0 down to magnitude 15.6 were selected from
single night photometry by Henden (see VSNET-chat 4665). For 'lazy'
observers we have also added a few nearby stars with B-V between 1.0 and
1.5.

The new sequence has a number of advantages over the existing
RASNZ-sequence that most observers are probably using.
The latter has a fair number of red comparison stars, not the sort of
stars that observers prefer to use on a rather blue object like WZ Sge.
This is partcularly evident in the magnitude 14-15 range, where we were
forced to adopt good stars a bit farther away from the variable than we
would have liked.. Also the RASNZ chart has a gap between 14.7 and 16.1
(which is far away as well). This too has been remedied with the new
sequence...
Although in general differences between the two sequences are small, we
hope that the newly selected sequence will allow visual observers to get
better results, with less scatter due to the use of too red stars, all
the way back to minimum brightness.
