It warrants further observations.
The spectral type is O9V, so the probability of its being
variable at the 0.04 magnitude level is reasonably good. A V=10.9
star with a close color-match is within 5' of HD 240464 and would be
a good candidate comp star for CCD observers. HD 240464 is located
in a dense part of the Galaxy.

Ditto this one. Its spectral type is B1Iab/Ib, so it's odds-on
variable at the 0.07 magnitude level. It, too, is in the Milky Way,
close to M-24. There two possible comp stars of similar magnitude
and color within about 8' of HD 167611.
Both stars have nearby, fairly rich, LONEOS fields.
