[vsnet-chat 4534] SN2001bn / CV?

I've posted on
http://ftp.nofs.navy.mil/pub/outgoing/aah/sequence/sn2001bn.dat
the single-night field photometry file for this star.
As mentioned in vsnet-alert 5950, this object was discovered
by QUEST and is also seen in the 2QZ survey. My photometry
for 010616.171 UT yielded
   V=19.73  (B-V) = 0.20
with about 0.10mag errors (not very deep exposures). This
is in line with the photometry listed in 5950, and so the
star does not appear to be declining in brightness, further
support of the non-SNe theory. Assuming that it was picked
up by QUEST because of a large change in brightness
(outburst?), sn2001bn sounds like a good candidate for monitoring.
