[vsnet-chat 4466] Re: Apogee AP-7p

Dear Dr. Skiff, Dr. Henden, and colleagues,

I am Seiichi Yoshida working on the MISAO Project.

Just for your information:

The main purpose of my recent trials to calculate the coefficient 'k'
is to find the answers to the following three questions in the MISAO
Project activity.

1. Do we have to re-examine the Kadota-san's and Ohkura-san's images?

2. What 'k' value should we use to determine the magnitude of stars in
case of Ezaki-san's and Torii-san's Apogee AP-7p images.

3. Do we have to record any other notes in the image information, in
addition to the CCD chip name? If yes, what notes should be
   recorded (glass name, for example)?

Based on the summary in my last mail, the answers will be:

1. Do we have to re-examine the Kadota-san's and Ohkura-san's images.

-> No. The errors of 0-point of magnitude became almost same, when
using the calculated coefficient 'k' and when using the Henden's
b(v) value. So we can determine the 0-point of magnitude using
      the Henden's b(v) value.

2. What 'k' value should we use to determine the magnitude of stars in
case of Ezaki-san's and Torii-san's Apogee AP-7p images.

-> The errors of 0-point of magnitude became almost same, when
using the calculated coefficient 'k' and when using the Henden's
b(v) value. So we can determine the 0-point of magnitude using
      the Henden's b(v) value for SITe back-illuminated.

3. Do we have to record any other notes in the image information, in
addition to the CCD chip name? If yes, what notes should be
   recorded (glass name, for example)?

-> The errors of 0-point of magnitude became almost same, when
using the calculated coefficient 'k' and when using the Henden's
b(v) value. So we cannot say there is a difference of 0-point
between the image with lens and image without lens. Therefore,
we do not have to record any other notes just in order to
      determine the magnitude.

-> However, some stars look different between the image with lens
and image without lens. So we need to add the lens name or so
when to report magnitude to VSNET.

-> However, we cannot say what causes the difference, how much it
causes the difference, from the MISAO Project images.

-> In conclusion, we add a new item "Instruments" to the XML files
in the MISAO Project database. The PIXY System 2 does not
consider the notes in the item in examination, but I add the
notes when reporting the magnitude to VSNET. It will contain the
      telescope name or filter name.

Best regards,
