I have a few comments regarding the Bouma/van Dijk chart for
GU Sgr [vsnet-chat 4457]. I agree with Arne's comment that star
#18 V=16.9 is contaminated by neighbours, and I therefore drop it
from the sequence. For similar reasons I also drop stars #15, #16
and #17. To replace these stars I had to find other stars in the
range 15.7-16.9. Two good stars are the Bouma/van Dijk stars 15.7
and 16.2 to the south of the variable. Their 16.5 appears crowded,
and I have decided not to use it. I have however used a close by
star with V=16.9. The final revised sequence, which I believe
covers all of Bouma/van Dijk's concerns, follows. It should also be
noted that to extend the sequence at the bright end there are five
photoelectric measures between V=10.09 to V=11.27 obtained in 1972 by
Bateson, Gordon and Menzies, for which I will provide details later.
