Speaking of "orthography", it is not a matter of question which metacodes
are used by any system. Anyone can implement a metacode and a computer code
which looks most efficient for that programmer. However, if these metacodes
are used in actual publications, data reports etc., they will cause severe
problems (as many have said). This is the reason why we need a fixed
orthography for variable stars.
