Hi Ondrej Latest edition of the online GCVS types this star as SR: It appears to be an emission line star, and a red giant, which fits with what you are saying about it being a symbiotic star. There is no Tycho1 data at all for this star... ...the data given in the Tycho1 catalogue is taken from the Hipparcos catalogue, so there'll be no epoch photometry either. This was probably a special target of the Hipparcos experiment. NSV 14378 lies 2' due south and is an Me star of 12.5 max mag, so is probably the same object. SIMBAD gives NSV 14378 as an identifier for V627 Cas at least. It is an IRAS point source object and is apparently associated with nebulosity [at least via spectroscopy] and a water maser to boot. >It shows some variability roughly consistent with published period. reference &/or value please. Is this a specroscopic binary period? Cheers John
