Dear colleagues:
While checking out data for stars in our brand new
LIADA Observing Program, I realized some weird things about NSV 504.
The NSV lists it as a probably E type with a photographic range 6.5 - 7.8p
Well, 6.50 is actually the V magnitude for this star and not the "p"
magnitude.
The B-V color index is 1.348, or 1.3: exactly the difference between maximum
and minimum in the GCVS range.
So 7.8 p is okay. 7.8 is the photographic (blue) magnitud of (former?) NSV
504.
So both measurements are **PROBABLY** the same value ("maximum") but in
different bandpasses.
Original discovery papers should be checked. (Hi, John!!! :-))
Hipparcos photometry doesn't show any trace of variability.
Regards,
Sebastian.
