Several months ago I noticed the identification
SN s1954alpha = V1274 Sgr (Nova 1954 No. 2)
Coordinates (J2000.0) from DWS97:
V1274 Sgr R.A. 17h48m55s Decl. -17o51'55"
SN s1954alpha 17h49m11s -17o50'49"
