[vsnet-chat 3846] RE: [AAVSO-DIS] HIPPARCOS ECLIPSING BINARIES

CONGRATULATIONS, CHRIS STEPHAN !!!!!

When I put together your observations of the supposed 1999's V353 Hya
eclipse and the Hipparcos data, I found a perfect match.

The period wasn't 7.555 days: it was half that value.
And with 9 years between eclipses, now we have another accurate period, as
in the case of V366 Puppis.

I've got a pretty combined lightcurve in front of me. Now all Hipparcos
observations look pretty!!

NEW ELEMENTS:

V353 HYDRAE - HIP 69211 - HD 123767

JD 2448608.450 + 3.777227 x E
or JD 2451301.6125 + 3.777227 x E , as your observations state...

Range: V= 7.42 - 7.99:

Primary eclipse lasts 0.36 days (8.6 hours, 9.5% of the period ).

WHAT A GREAT JOB!!! Did you observe the star only those times?? You were
very lucky since you caught exactly the mideclipse !!

Could someone observe WZ Vol tonight?
Tomorrow is the predicted minimum and as I said it's long.

And Marv, tell me how to report observations to the AAVSO EB committee.

Best wishes,
Sebastian.
