Re the mailing list archives under the "Old Log Archive" link at the
main vsnet website:

is it at all possible to move the vnset-id link up near to the top of
the link list to be near the other similar links, rather than below a
sea of wanted and recent links?

It'd save all that scrolling etc.


Also, in these lists: reverse chronological order is friendlier,
otherwise I have to wait for the whole page to load, and some of these
lists get quite large sometimes.  However, I understand if that is not
an easy/trivial task.

FINALLY: you'll probably get some gripes about the proliferation of
lists.

I quite like it.

Most of the gripes will be from people who are very interested in all
aspects of variables who now have multiple subscriptions.  As long as
stuff isn't echoed to too many other lists at once [though more than one
list can be relevant sometimes], that's fine.  Indeed, it helps people
pick and choose what they want from vsnet.

For example, someone interested in Be stars may normally have totally
unsubscribed from VSNET in the past due to little post on those stars
and tons on CVs etc.  Now these people are more likely to remain
subscribed.

That is, in the long run you've more chance of keeping people people
than loosing them with this new system.


This won't stop some folk start playing merry hell mindst.
