Thank you for pointing out for this. I took the elements of Hipparcos
variables from the Hipparcos main catalogue (not from Name List 74 because
they contained no classfication nor period). I have found V996 Cen in
hip_va_2.dat in the Hipparcos catalogue, but this is not flagged for
new variable stars (the second column of this table), which have caused
the omission. I hope this kind of error be corrected in the future versions
of the Hipparcos catalogue.
I have duly added this star to my database, so that it will be properly
processed.
