Re: [vsnet-chat 3327] microquasar
In terms of variability (the often transient nature of activity),
the known Galactic microquasars more resemble blazars. So the terminology
microblazar looks more adequate to me ;-). Optically violently vaiable
QSOs (OVV-QSOs) are one of main subgroups of blazars, which look more
analogous to microquasars than classical quasars, so one might wish to
subdivide microquasars into OVV-microquasars.
In fact, people seem to start forgetting "S" in QSO represents "stellar",
but quasar is an independent entity in galactic or cosmological astronomy.
I remember I have been suggested not to write blazar papers on BL Lac
itself on the (widely believed?) reason that BL Lac is a variable star,
not an extragalactic object.
