This/these objects lies on the edge of a field of FASTT "variable"
stars, which happens also to be a field of ASAS "variable" stars, and
not too distant is a field of MISAO "variable" stars [MisV0424 is of
interest]. The area may be well monitored in these surveys.
Astrophysically, this is an area peppered with light and dark nebulae,
some very close to this group. SER OB1 and SER OB2 are a bit away from
this [The Scutum Star Cloud is nearish too], but given the redness
["helped" by strong extinction at a guess] I'd go for this being a
candidate INT star, and given the xrays as well, a WTTS. This view is
biased by the sheer number of IRAS sources and RASS-FSC sources and
nebulae within a few degrees of this area. Indeed, the IRAS point
sources seem denser than the GSC stars here!
It is a long time since I read up on YSOs though!
