I meant the simplest possible thing: just the cross-correlations
between catalogs, and the likelihood that, based on these correlations,
the object might be a CV. Essentially what the two of you have
been saying in your posts. Just put things in plain English and
in an organized manner. I like Brian's concept of an IBVS, but
this sounds like an evolving list and so needs to be maintained on the
vsnet website as well. That gives everyone a starting point for
deciding whether to follow a specific object. This will be much
simpler for me than the current hodge-podge of emails, some of which just discuss
an object and some of which actually have coordinates or magnitudes
for the object.
