Oh, sorry. The lack of sleep is a frequent and permanent topic of
discussion among variable star observers, so I just wondered how everyone
could manage to take sleep. Recalling when I was an active visual observer,
I have been surprized how similar is the observation scheme between us,
and Gene. When I used to observe, when I return home I make evening
observations continuously for 1-1.5 hour, then make a phone (there was no
internet then) to domestic observers (since variable star observers are
rare, they used to be a long distance call ;-) to let them know the
nightly CV activity. After some communication, I used to make a second
run until sometime past midnight. I don't have a clear memory (nor dream)
of how I slept after then, but the observation log recorded morning
observations. The only dream I saw must have been a rare outburst of
a dwarf nova...
