[vsnet-chat 3035] SN 2000cm position

> The fine image with SN is kindly supplied by F. M. Ewalt at:
>http://pages.prodigy.net/fmewalt/.wi_SN2000cm-1W.jpg . It shows that
>the offset is likely good enough (though the offset to north seems to
>be slightly smaller than the real value), but the position seems to be
>erroneous: SN lies about 10" north of the given declination. Note
>that the southeastern mag 14 star (USNO_A2.0 0900_07099845) has a
>large (about 35"/c) proper motion towards southeast, and is cataloged
>in NLTT as 554-81. The precise astrometry of SN is strongly desired.

I have submitted the below report to CBAT:

SUPERNOVA 2000cm in FGC 1384

  H. Yamaoka, Kyushu University, reports the precise position of
SN 2000cm (IAUC 7436, 7437), measured with unfiltered CCD image
taken on June 4 UT by F. M. Ewalt (East Killingly, CT) with 0.25-m
telescope: R.A. = 12h12m59s.43, Decl. = 7o18'00".8 (equinox 2000.0).

Sincerely Yours,
Hitoshi Yamaoka, Kyushu Univ., Japan
