The light curve of the latest Takamizawa variable (TmzV741) [vsnet-newvar
376] presents a bit of a puzzle. On occasions the star is quite active,
changing by over a magnitude in ~ 25 days but it also spends a
considerable time below the visibility limit, where it could be quiescent
or equally variable. Either way it is unusual. SRVs do not usually have
extended periods of inactivity and if it is active then the range of
variation becomes quite large, perhaps 3 magnitudes. There is no
indication of a period in the present data. The star is currently near
maximum (but not bright) so if anyone is interested now is the time to
follow it into the deep.
