The scatter on the Jan. 18 is largely due to the Poisson noise, caused
by the low altitude (for the first part) and the Moonlight interference.
The scatter on other nights are a combination of the Possion noise and
the intrinsic variation. The increase of scatter amplitude at a certain
superhump phase suggest that some kind of short-term variation, esp.
known as super-QPOs, can be partly relevant. I would urge observers to use
a reasonably achievable short exposure (<60 sec) time in order to record
rapid variations in eclipse.
