Although Patrick has more information on this object (unless he has
another computer problem, I hope he could comment on this), the only
available information to me is the Downes et al. entry as "CMa 1" and
its associated references.
According to the ROSAT catalog (1RXS), the object is recorded as
064047.7 -242304 (2000.0) 1RXS064047.8-242305 0.819 0.03 0.26
The high count rate (0.819 c/s) and the soft spectrum together with
the presence of outbursts suggests that the object may be a nearby
dwarf nova. The count rate rivals those of well-known bright dwarf novae,
like U Gem or YZ Cnc.
