Dear colleagues, I am Seiichi Yoshida working on the MISAO Project. Many thanks for your replies to my mail on announcement of many new variable stars. And sorry to be so late to reply. I see most readers would not like to receive too many mails at one time. Only one summarized mail containing of all new variable stars seems better for them. But Taichi Kato pointed out, as an administrator, that one mail for one star is good for archiving new variable stars. One mail containing many stars may cause some confusing. In my opinion, the main purpose of the announcement mails of new variable stars is to make our new variable stars recognized in the public. Some proposed to put all data at WWW site and only to send one main with the URL. But I cannot agree with this style. Actually, information of all the MISAO new variable stars are available at the MISAO Project Home Page. But it does not make sense for public recognization. The discoveries must be "reported" to public society, I think. Well, we also submit all our discoveries to IBVS, but I would like to use the E-mail system, too. Packing all information into one mail sounds good. But another purpose of our announcement is to make our new variable stars archived in the public. Therefore, if packing is more confusing or misleading in archiving work, I would like to send one mail for one star. However, if our many mails cause your E-mail service in trouble, I have to change my style. Actually, some told me that their E-mail system was in trouble because of our mails... Very sorry. Then Taichi Kato opened a new mailing list service "vsnet-newvar" for announcement of new variable star discoveries. So yesterday, I sent some dozens of mails of new variable stars in the former style. But the interval between each mail is enlarged from 30 seconds to 5 minutes. So I guess the damage for your E-mail service is reduced now. Anyway, I guess the opening of the new mailing list is in order to continue announcement of new variable stars by E-mail in the same style as being sent to vsnet-obs previously without damaging some readers' E-mail service. I will never send so many mails to vsnet-obs. So the readers of vsnet-obs (not vsnet-newvar) will never be in trouble because of us. How dou your think of this style? If some readers subscribing only vsnet-obs, not vsnet-newvar, request, I will also send one summarized mail of new variable stars discoveries at the same time, which is also available at the MISAO Project Home Page.
