I've updated the field photometry file for V452 Cas on
http://ftp.nofs.navy.mil/pub/outgoing/aah/sequence/v452cas.dat
Also, the two nights of photometry for the star marked
in D&S yields
991013 51464.7870 15.797 1.318 0.003 0.006
991105 51487.7467 15.799 1.328 0.003 0.006
so, on both nights, the variable must have been in
outburst according to Schmeer's results. This object
is quite red for a CV, and had remarkably similar
magnitudes for two distinct nights. Probably the true CV lies
beneath a red companion.
