The list of GSC stars that Hitoshi Yamaoka sent with his discussion
of SN 99em shows the GSC magnitudes, which in this region are nearly B
(blue), and thus are inappropriate for visual use. This is reason that
Jose' Ripero's esitmate using t
that sequence is so much fainter. The AAVSO sequence is the one on the
Thompson & Bryan chart, which is based on photoelectric measurements by
Alcaino and Liller, and thus is to be preferred to the GSC values.
