[vsnet-chat 2084] Star near NGC 6411

Following an inquiry, I found that one star near NGC 6411, host of
SN 1999da, has been measured by Frueh et al. (1996 AJ 111,722) in their
compilation of aperture photometry of galaxies. The star is located 1'.0
SW of the center of the galaxy, and is GSC 4199-1208, for which Frueh et al.
give V=12.76 and B-V=1.07 from two independent observations. The R magnitude
would be close to R=12.18. Note that one will have to be careful about the
'sky' measurement to compensate for the background light of the galaxy in
order to use this star with CCDs.
