The quoted GCVS maximum seems to be a rather exceptional value. Recent
reports (cf. IAUCs) indicate usual optical maxima are around mag 16. At
the time of charting, it did look readily accessible, since several 14.5-15.0
mag dwarf novae were already on the program (as are reported in VSNET now).
Aside from usual outbursts, there was a report (in ApJ letter, last year?)
of recurrent short optical flashes. I wonder whether this phenomenon has
been confirmed, and whether is accesible to eyes.
