V3462 Sgr is bright in USNO A2.0 and quite red. The B-R value is 3.0,
and the magnitude is given as 12.7R and 15.7B. Unfortunately this is
the combined magnitude of both components of the double reported by
Berto - it is not resolved in A2.0. The components are separated by
approximately 10". The J2000 coordinates from A2.0 are:
18 30 20.25 -32 37 57
The red nature of this star, combined with the variability confirmed
by Rod and Berto, certainly supports Berto's conclusion that this is
probably a red LPV. Checking of the discovery information should
confirm if this variable is indeed the variable star V3462 Sgr.
