I'll be looking forward to Patrick's paper. You might
pass on info when you submit it so that we can be on
the lookout.
A couple of points:
(1) USNO-A is based on POSS-I plates. The O/E pair for
a given field were almost always taken back-to-back,
not on separate dates. There are other reasons for
suspecting USNO-A colors, but that is not one of them.
(2) I thought most of the Harvard plates were fairly
long exposure. Wouldn't asteroids show up as streaks
and be fairly obvious to experienced observers?
