Well-observed high-z QSO. Maybe a challenge for southern observers.
2000 105756.4 +455552 PSSJ1057+4555 R17. z=4.10
Northern observers' equivalent.
Allowing for 18-th mag limit, the highest z record is
2000 120523.1 -074232 BR1202-0725 R18. z=4.694
The well-known highest CO detection source (if I remember correctly).
Even more distant...
2000 124942.1 +334953 PC1247+3406 R20. z=4.897
