[vsnet-chat 1754] Re: some more MISAO objects

I had a look at these objects on he DSS in hopes of finding out what
sorts of things are being noted as errors by the MISAO system. All except
two in the present list appear to be "blank sky" on the DSS, suggesting
they are emulsion flaws of some kind or dirt present when the plates were
scanned. The object at RA 160635.6 is a piece of a diffraction spike from
a bright star to the north. The object at RA 185835.1 is a galaxy with some
faint stars superposed; these often (usually!) have erroneously bright
magnitudes in both the GSC and USNO-A.
It might be instructive for others to examine the errors on the DSS or
other images to see if a flaw or real object is sometimes in the correct
place. This will help folks understand the sorts of problems that can
occur with any sort of digital images (scanned plates/films, CCD frames).
