I wonder whether the AFOEV will or may change the magnitude of this
comparison star in future. And I wonder how many observers cuurently use
the magnitude of 7.4 (from the new edition of the AAVSO Atlas, or from
Hipparcos photometry). In the Japanese case, at least some observers
predominantly use Hipparcos/Tycho V magnitudes, others the AAVSO Atlas
Second Edition as a convenient source of comparisons for binocular
variables. The use of mag 7.4 seems to become prevailing since the last
year, as R CrB spent a while around this magnitude.
